The following terms and conditions are agreed by both yourself and Harmony String Quartet.

  • We ask that sandwiches (or a light meal alternative) are provided for our musicians if your booking is over 3 hours.Please provide coffee/tea and water throughout the day.

  • We ask that we are given a suitable playing area to perform in which includes suitable lighting and positioned away from staff serving food or drinks.

    Our cellist will have a spike holder to use so the floor will not be damaged in any way.

    Should we be asked to play outside, we would be delighted too providing that we are able to play underneath some sort of shelter. A marquee or large canopy is perfectly acceptable. Please be aware that we do not provide this and it will be your responsibility to do so.

    We cannot sit underneath a tree due to twigs or raindrops falling and potentially damaging our instruments.

    The temperature outside must be 17 degrees or higher. If it is too windy, the musicians will have to move inside and play as the sound will be carried away.

    Our instruments combined reach a total of £75,000 so we have to be incredibly careful with what they are exposed too.Please make your venue aware of these conditions.

  • We require approximately 6 chairs worth of space to ensure that we can play efficiently and move around if needs. Our musicians will not play standing and will require 4 armless chairs to sit on.

  • Your balance payment is to be made by bank transfer to Charlotte Daw (manager of Harmony String Quartet). She will provide you with the details in your confirmation email. The final balance must be paid 2 months prior to your date.

    We will be unable to perform for you if the final balance has not been paid. Your deposit will not be refunded should this happen and you will be liable for the full balance payment.

  • We do not supply any sound amplification equipment electronic or otherwise and do not play electric instruments.

    Any sound amplification equipment you may require is to be hired separately from us.

    We are not responsible for the quality of sound produced from any sound amplification equipment put before us.

  • The String Ensemble will take a 10 minute break per hour.

    Should we play for the Wedding Breakfast, we will liaise with the venue staff so that a break can be taken when the speeches commence.

    The booking time duration and fees quoted on your confirmation email is for the total time hired not played.

  • If we have to cancel your performance due to any reason (including vehicle fault, traffic or illness) you will receive a full refund of any balances you have paid. This will be the limit of any compensations towards you

  • If one of the musicians does not arrive at the venue, we may offer to perform as a reduced ensemble.

    If you agree this, a refund of the player’s fee will be refunded back to you. This will be the limit of any compensations towards you

  • The String Quartet will arrive 45 minutes before they are due to play. Should they arrive on time and be ready to start at the agreed start time, but due to the client, guests, or other service providers (such as venue staff or florists) or any other reason not down to them, the ensemble is unable to start performing, the start time which was agreed prior to arrival at the venue will go ahead as planned anyway.You may wish to extend their booking time to cover any additional booking time required due to delay. Please chat to the musicians on the day to see if they are able to stay longer and they will sort out payment with you directly.

  • Should the String Ensemble arrive late at either the first or second venues, this time will be added on to your booking at the end. Our musicians will confirm with you should you want this option. If it does not suit your itinerary, a small refun d will be offered.

    If your booking is a multiple venue (most likely Church wedding and then venue wedding party), which involves the Quartet travelling between venues, please be aware travelling time may vary on the day to that predicted. This could be due to a wide range of factors beyond our control.

  • If you would like to amend your booking, please contact Charli. We will not be able to reduce your booking if you contact us up to 2 months before your booking date. This is due to our musicians being given all the details of your booking with them. If you would like to increase your booking, then we will be able to do this for you.

  • If you would like to change your booking from a String Trio to String Quartet, we will be able to do so for a fee of £185. This is to cover the additional player and extra music that will be required on the day.

  • If you would like to change your booking from a String Duo to String Trio, we will be able to do so for a fee of £185. This is to cover the additional player and extra music that will be required on the day.

  • If you would like to change your booking from a String Quartet to String Trio, we will be able to do so for a fee reduction of £120.

  • If you would like to change your booking from a String Trio to String Duo, we will be able to do so for a fee reduction of £80.

  • Our String Duo has a limited booking period of 2.5 hours.

  • Our String Trio has a limited booking period of 4 hours.

  • Should you have to change your venue, please contact us immediately so we can check this won’t affect your travel fee. All bookings are made with a travel fee included so we will need to check the new venue address details incase the travel fee needs to be updated.

  • We can not guarantee our availability should you have to change your booked date.

    There may be an additional charge to move your booking.

    If we cannot move your booking from your original date to the new date due to unavailability, then your booking will have to be cancelled. Your deposit and any other monies taken by us will not be refunded.

  • If you cancel your booking at any time, for any reason, your deposit will not be refunded. The deposit of £150 is non refundable.

    If you cancel your booking within 2 months prior of the performance date, you will also be liable to compensate the musicians the final balance.

  • Should you need to talk to Charli about matters regarding your booking, you can call/email or text her (07837870354).

    Most correspondence is done by email.

    If you require an additional ‘face to face’ meeting, we are able to offer FaceTime or Zoom calls. This will include a fee of £50 and will last 45 minutes.
